COST AND INSURANCE MATTERS

Our clinic offers procedures in a number of specialised surgical fields. The cost of treatment depends on the nature and extent of the procedures involved in each case. Generally speaking, a distinction is made between a consultation or treatment that is medically indicated and therefore necessarily covered by health insurance, and purely cosmetic measures that are not covered by medical insurance.

Services covered by health insurance
If it is an inpatient treatment that is medically indicated and you are covered by medical insurance, all prior consultations, operation and hospital costs plus any post-operative outpatient treatment will be covered by the insurance company and calculated at the usual insurance rates. Please note that the Pyramid Clinic does not have a general medical department, so you will require some form of supplementary private or semi-private hospital insurance. As state-regulated rates (Tarmed) do not cover all expenses, we are only able to carry out general health service operations on an outpatient basis in a few exceptional circumstances.

Services not covered by health insurance
If the treatment is not covered by health insurance (e.g. a purely cosmetic operation), all costs will be at your expense (including prior consultations and actual treatment). You will receive a binding quote, itemising the exact costs of the operation. The amount quoted must be paid one month in advance or no later than the time of admission, so that the operation can go ahead as planned.
