COSTS AND INSURANCE MATTERSOur clinic offers procedures in a number of specialised surgical fields. The cost of treatment depends on the nature and extent of the procedures involved in each case. Generally speaking, a distinction is made between treatment that is medically indicated and therefore necessarily covered by health insurance, and purely cosmetic measures that are not covered by medical insurance. Services covered by health insurance If you are having an inpatient treatment that is medically indicated and you are covered by the relevant private supplementary insurance, all prior consultations, operation and hospital costs plus any post-operative outpatient treatment will be covered by the insurance company. Privately insured and self-paying patients in Zurich / semi-private patients in Schwerzenbach Since January 2010 we have been offering patients treatment at our two clinics in Zurich and Schwerzenbach based on insurance class. We have made the Pyramid Clinic at the Lake, our headquarters in Zurich, into an exclusive private clinic for privately insured and self-paying patients. Patients with semi-private insurance can be treated at the Pyramid Clinic in Zurich on payment of an additional charge or "upgrade". The amount of this premium depends on the type of surgery and the duration of the stay at the clinic. This includes not just the choice between single and twin rooms, but all of our extra services and additional options in the highest private patient category. The upgrade is included in the quote that you will receive before the operation and is listed transparently. This additional payment on top of semi-private insurance guarantees the financing for the added value that we provide in our top category: Maximum commitment to service in both medicine and hospitality, as well as individuality, flexibility, and in particular continuity of medical and nursing care. If you would like semi-private treatment, this can be carried out at the second Pyramid Clinic location in Schwerzenbach. Here we also offer high quality care in our "Business Class" service. The advantages of "First Class" are available for stays at our top location by the Lake of Zurich. Services not covered by health insurance If your treatment is not covered by health insurance, such as a purely cosmetic procedure, all costs will be at your expense. This includes prior consultations as well as the actual treatment. You will receive a binding quote, itemising the exact costs of the operation. To reserve the date for your operation, the amount quoted must usually be paid one month in advance, or on admission at the latest.
