TREATMENTS OFFERED

At the Pyramid Clinic in Schwerzenbach you will be treated exclusively by an experienced private specialist of your choice. The range of medical services offered by the Pyramid Clinic at Schwerzenbach is extensive and is oriented to the needs of the patients in the Zurich highlands and based on the specialities of our accredited external physicians.

Orthopaedic surgery
Our specialists treat congenital or acquired deformities or dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system, i.e. bones, joints, muscles and tendons. Orthopaedic surgery services include interventions to preserve or replace joints, including prosthetic surgery (also known as endoprosthetics) for the shoulder, spine, hip and knee.

Foot and hand surgery
Hand and foot surgery is another of our specialist fields. We treat degenerative medical conditions (arthritis), rheumatological illnesses (polyarthritis), inflammations of the tendons, connective tissue diseases, nerve compression, ganglia, sequelae from accidents or injuries as well as deformities and tumours.

Eye surgery
Eye surgery includes the restoration of clear optical media, the restoration and/or improvement of motor and elastic balance, the removal of diseased tissue, reduction of eye pressure or the correction of ametropia using refractive surgery.

Otorhinolaryngology: ear, nose and throat surgery
Ear, nose and throat surgery covers a wide range of interventions: diseases, injuries, deformities and dysfunction of the ears, the upper respiratory tract, the oral cavity, the throat, the larynx, the lower respiratory tract and the oesophagus.

Vascular surgery
This includes surgery to treat problems in the legs, particularly vascular conditions such as varicose veins. We perform all established and innovative procedures under partial or general anaesthesia.

Visceral surgery
Visceral surgery (treatment of the abdominal organs) in our clinic is limited to the treatment of hernias and haemorrhoids. Minimally invasive surgery or laparoscopic surgery is used for this surgery, which has the advantage that patients require only a very short stay in the hospital.

Plastic, restorative and aesthetic surgery
This is a traditional surgical speciality of our clinic, in which we collaborate with our parent clinic, the Pyramide am See in Zurich, to provide selected aesthetic and reconstructive procedures.

Anaesthesia
Before, during and after your operation you will be cared for by specialists in anaesthesiology. The anaesthetic procedures ensure optimal safety and the greatest possible comfort with regard to pain alleviation. Before each operation, you will discuss with your anaesthesiologist the method of anaesthesia best suited to you. Your anaesthesiologists will also be available to you at any time after your surgery to answer questions or provide special pain treatments.
